I love spring! The Earth warms up, here and there small dollops of green emerge. It’s as if the earth is saying “surprise” I’m back! Like clockwork, we all emerge from our hibernation dens, ready to get out and re-engage with nature. We may even see the neighbors we haven’t seen in six months!
As it turns out, May is also National Smile Month and this gives us an opportunity to experience two great things together – a brisk spring walk and an ear-to-ear grin on our face. I am certain this will prove easier than walking and chewing gum and it’s a great way to greet old friends and new friends we haven’t met yet. If you’re walking down the street with a great big smile and a wave for passersby, you’ll be sure to attract some spring warmth back your way. I don’t know why we have to have one specific month for smiling – I think all twelve work equally as well – but I think May is just one of the months we just feel like smiling. Make the most of this merry month and Walk a Smile with friends, your pet, or even alone … with a smile as your greeting, you won’t be walking alone for long!
