Kick of the Month – Slow down to the speed of summ 2007/08/24 01:21
Summer hit high gear. I felt the days whizzing by along with the need to savor special moments that only summer provides: trees swaying in warm breezes against impossibly blue skies, pints of fresh raspberries just bursting with juice, birdsong at dawn, lazy strolls for ice cream just as the fireflies start to twinkle, the sound of children’s laughter on the beach. I want to slow down to enjoy these pleasures one by one, day-by-day. My cat lazes in the garden batting at the occasional leaf or butterfly and I admire his ability to revel in his own laziness without any guilt. This month, I invite you to think about all the special things summer means to you: both simple pleasures or meaningful traditions. Then, I want you to plan some guilt-free lazy time and savor each one of them. I promise the memories will keep you warm in the months to come.

Hi Loretta,
This is my first time to post anything on your site, and I am not really sure if this is the way to contact you or not, but I decided to just give it a try anyway.
I had the joy of hearing you speak in Boston in the early 90's for the National Hospice Convention.
Hearing you on that special day is something I will never forget. It was a pivotal point for me. Our paths are remarkably similar in so many ways. I clearly remember sitting in that audience hearing you speak about choices of happiness....and decided then and there to leave the past behind and go and make my own dreams happen! Choosing joy has worked, and paid great dividends spiritually, mentally and certainly financially! I too, am a Professional Speaker (Humorist) and have lived by and shared so many of the things I have learned from you over the years! Thank you so very much!

I was recently on a plane reading your book "Wear you Party Pants". The gentlemen I was sitting next to asked about the book and of course I told him all about you and about the day I was sitting on the back row at the Westin Hotel in Boston. I told him I certainly planned on seeing you again one day and thanking you in person for all of the things you have taught me, and ways you have encouraged an "Encourager".

I was in Boston last week speaking for NTCA and staying at the Sea Port Inn. I was aware there were a lot of AARP folks there and heard about all of the wonderful events planned for them. I did not know however that you were across the street from my hotel and that I could have walked over there and said hello to you and Eric in person! Wow, I hate that. So close!

You are a dear and precious soul Loretta! And I do so appreciate all that you have given me!
Please make a note of this..... one day when you least expect it... someone will walk up to you and say...." Loretta, I am Jenny Nolen Marko, from Cullman Alabama, and I do believe you
are the greatest! I just wanted to say thank you in person. so here I am!"

Looking forward to that day!
Jenny

Hi Loretta, I just got back from New York where my employer arrange for you to speak with us. I have to say that it was one of the most uplifing sessions I have ever attended. I have two children 9 and 7, I couldn't wait to get home and apply some of your suggestions on how to live life and enjoy every moment with them. I thank you, all the best.
