Loretta will be joining Mayor Thomas J. Menino, Boston Partners in Education and the other "Big Cheese" Readers for a breakfast reception in support of Boston Public Schools through the "Big Cheese Reads" initiative. 

Since 2004, The Big Cheese Reads has been connecting business and community leaders with middle school students in order to emphasize the important link between literacy and career success. 

Big Cheese readers visit a middle school classroom once during the school year to read a short selection aloud to the class, give a brief personal account of the ways reading and learning have impacted their lives and career achievements, and respond to questions from the students.  Since its inception, more than 120 corporate and community leaders have gone back into the classroom to support the initiative.
